TAC Announces New Staff: Geoff Noxon and Joelle Patry

Thursday, May 31, 2018

The Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) is pleased to announce two new staff appointments: Geoff Noxon, P.Eng. will join the staff as Director, Technical Programs, effective July 16; and Joelle Patry will start as Communications & Marketing Officer on Monday, June 4.

Geoff will leave his successful consulting practice, Noxon Associates Limited, to take up this important role. He is enthusiastic about the opportunity and notes that “our industry is poised for significant change, and TAC’s technical programs will have a key role to play in that process.” He is a strategic thinker and exceptional communicator who will provide critical leadership for TAC’s technical programs as we help our members contend with accelerating shifts in technological, environmental, economic and social contexts.

Geoff knows TAC well, having been a member for many years. He has contributed to numerous TAC projects and served as a dedicated volunteer on the Association’s Sustainable Transportation Standing Committee and Urban Transportation Council since 2003 and 2007, respectively. His career to date has included work in municipal government and the private sector, experience that will be valuable as he engages with TAC members in his new position as Director.

Geoff holds an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering from Queen’s University. He succeeds Sandra Majkic who resigned from TAC in early May.

Joelle Patry comes to TAC from the RCMP Foundation (The Mountie Shop) where she was responsible for their marketing/communications, website development, social media and online presences, and email marketing. She has held other marketing, communications and PR/donor relations positions over her career, including at the Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa, University of Ottawa Health Services, Opera Lyra and the National Arts Centre. Joelle is fluently bilingual and is looking forward to positively impacting TAC’s communications and outreach practices.

Please help us in welcoming Geoff and Joelle to TAC.
